Hed has a long history of unique and innovative wheel designs aimed at optimizing aerodynamic efficiency.  After nearly 30 years of utilizing carbon fiber to solve the "aero puzzle" Hed introduced the C2 alloy rim concept.  The C2 incorporated a wider profile rim with relatively shallow depth to improve aerodynamic efficiency between tire and rim.  The name C2 represented the improvement of both coefficient of rolling resistance (Crr) and coefficient of aerodynamic drag (Cda) provided by its 23mm width. 

The C2 kicked off a "wide-ride" revolution pushing modern cycling wheels toward higher volume tires mating squarely to wider rim beds.  With greater acceptance of the wide rim concept, Hed updated their alloy rim line adding an even wider tubeless compatible model called the Belgium Plus, now called the Belgium R.

• Spokes: Wheelbuilder caries a wide range of high quality spokes from leading manufacturers. We select the exact spoke model and manufacturer based on a combination of your selected spoke type as well as hub flange thickness and spoke hole diameters.  If you have a specific brand preference please leave us a note in the comments field.
