Hed has a long history of unique and innovative wheel designs aimed at optimizing aerodynamic efficiency.  After nearly 30 years of utilizing carbon fiber to solve the "aero puzzle" Hed introduced the C2 alloy rim concept.  The C2 incorporated a wider profile rim with relatively shallow depth to improve aerodynamic efficiency between tire and rim.  The name C2 represented the improvement of both coefficient of rolling resistance (Crr) and coefficient of aerodynamic drag (Cda) provided by its 23mm wide profile.  The C2 kicked off a "wide-ride" revolution pushing modern cycling wheels toward higher volume tires mating squarely to wider rim beds. 

With greater acceptance of the wide-ride concept, Hed added tubeless compatibility and updated their alloy rim lineup with the Belgium Plus and Gravel-specific Eroica.  The Eroica was designed specifically for modern disc brake frames and is well suited for wider gravel and All-Road tires in either 700C or 650B sizes.

Hed carbon Vanquish GP rims combine a wide rim bed with the knowledge gained from years of carbon wheel development to produce tubeless clincher profiles that optimize aerodynamics and rolling resistance using tires from 23-28mm wide.  Vanquish GP rims can accommodate tires as wide as 45mm making them ideal for both road and Gravel use.
