IMPORTANT: Base package includes Stan's alloy rim, DT Swiss 350 disc hub, Black double butted round spokes, Black brass nipples, tubeless rim tape, and labor.

  • Spokes: Wheelbuilder caries a wide range of high quality spokes from leading manufacturers. We select the exact spoke model and manufacturer based on a combination of your selected spoke type as well as hub flange thickness and spoke hole diameters.  If you have a specific brand preference please leave us a note in the comments field.

I9 Hydra/Arch MK3 wheelset

I recently had the team at Wheelbuilder.com build me an Industry Nine Hydra/Stans Arch MK3/DT Comp 29" wheelset to replace the stock wheelset on my new xc/trail bike. I knew exactly what I wanted in terms of the individual wheel components and I had shopped around, both locally and on the web, but nobody even came within $180-200 of Wheelbuilder.com's price and timing. The hubs are awesome, as you'd expect from I9, and the rims are the right combo of strength and weight that I was looking for in a rim.

That said, the thing I really want to review is the overall experience and build quality! First off, the whole process from online ordering through delivery of the wheels was ridiculously easy. Lisa W. found an issue with my order due to my own inattentiveness and corrected it right away. The wheelset came well within the standard build time quoted on their site, despite not having the exact hubs I had ordered in stock at that moment. The build quality is...well...phenomenal!

I've had a lot of MTB and road custom wheels and wheelsets built in my 25+ years of cycling and the I9/Stans wheelset I just got from Wheelbuilder.com is, by far and away, in a class of its own! I know right who I'm coming back to for all future wheel builds from here on out!
